Tell your story with illustration
Welcome! My name is Christina, and I’m a science illustrator based out of Silver Spring, Maryland. I create art in the service of science, helping to visually communicate science concepts and information. I have a string background in both science and the arts, with a passion for science education rooted in visual storytelling. I have a BS in Marine Biology from UC Santa Cruz, and Professional Certificate in Museum Studies from CU Boulder, and am currently working toward a certificate in Science Illustration from the Science Illustration Distance Learning Program, taught by Gretchen Halpert. I’ve worked professionally in museum collections, and spent several wonderful years as an aquarist at The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, Utah (Now called The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium). My illustration specialties include marine biology and oceanography, paleontology, botany, and museum exhibit interpretive design. I am happy to explore on any science topic, and commissions inspired by nature.
Recent clients include the University of California, Merced (Kim Lab), North Carolina State University (Youngsteadt Lab - learn more about this great pollinator project here), and designing a page for a coloring book anthology entitled All Along the Atlantic, (buy it from Amazon here). I'd love to work with you on your next project or publication! Feel free to contact me for information.
